a moment - sometimes that's all you will pray to have back. To only go back and to capture that moment could make that difference. That moment where you would have smiled at the rather than frowned.. a moment you would have written that brilliant idea down.. a moment where you would have said what you felt rather then keep it locked, a moment where you would have spared that change to the busker that made you smile. People pray for these moments as their eyelids close for their nightly sleep, as they cue in a flower shop at the hospital, as the work that 18 hour shifts to support their kids that they raise alone, as they watch the televised war caused by un-just governments the voted in on their tv.
Just think,it took a moment for a man chose to be imprisoned for 23 years for freedom of his people and the walk to freedom took a moment that inspired hope in so many, in a moment a mother forgave her rapist as held her new born child, a moment not long after a child was hit by a bullet in war that he was too young to understand. It was a great moment they discovered that cure and that same moment a man died from the dreadful disease.
Moments are what this world is made up of- moments change us, shape history, have the power to transform landscapes, the power build nations, the power to destroy, the power to heal and the power to foster love.
This week I learned that moments are the memories we have when we lose the ones we love. Equally moments are what we leave behind for people to remember us. So i will start to chose my moments with more care and make them count. Cover them in love - fill them with joy- make them reflective- take steps to make my moments make a lasting change!
it took a moment to write this... I hope you liked the moment you read it.
