July - 1st is Somalia- independence day- this pictures was taken and made by my friend Leith- posed as a political question to the world at the tate! Its an important question-and one that's is needed to be asked- who is speaking for Somalia? Between terror and threat- the worlds media and governments paint Somalia in the worst light! my upcoming blog will look at what nearly 50 years of Independence has meant for the country,looking at those in it and those disposed- and will question if it be soon be nothing but a imagined nation in the Nomadic consciousness...It will be done through a personal narrative- locating when it was that i decided to start talking for Somalia- what going back menat to me and what it means to be a Somali girl living in the west!!
